FAQ: Polyurethane (PU) Gloves

Does polyurethane protect against liquids?

Only partially. The PU coating on the palm is waterproof, but the back of the glove is usually open mesh to promote breathability. They are not suitable for immersion in liquids (you need Chemical Nitrile for that).

Do they leave fingerprints on objects?

PU gloves, especially white ones, are "Low Lint" (low particle release) and "No Marking," ideal for handling glass, optics or electronic components without leaving fingerprints or haloes.

Are they abrasion resistant?

They have good abrasion resistance (often level 3 or 4 EN 388), but because they are very thin, they wear faster than heavy nitrile or leather gloves when used on very rough surfaces (e.g., bricks).
