What is the difference between FFP2 and surgical mask?

The surgical is a medical device that protects others from the wearer (outgoing barrier). The FFP2 is PPE that protects the wearer by filtering at least 94% of harmful particles in the air (inlet and outlet barrier).

What is the exhalation valve used for?

The valve allows warm, moist air to escape more easily, reducing condensation and heat inside the mask. It makes breathing less strenuous during heavy work, but it does not filter the outgoing air.

When to change mask filters?

Dust filters (P) should be changed when breathing becomes labored (clogging). Gas filters (A, B, E, K) should be changed immediately if you start to smell or taste the contaminant.
