Signal Meaning:
• The "Traffic light" sign (fig. 404) announces the presence of a traffic light system, even if not immediately visible or in an unusual position, and invites drivers to pay more attention.
• It can be used in the following cases:
• Traffic lights not immediately visible due to the shape of the road (curves, climbs, visual obstacles)
• Temporary traffic lights (e.g. on road construction sites)
• Newly installed traffic light systems
• Presence of pedestrian or bicycle traffic lights in points at risk
Graphic appearance:
• Yellow background with red border
• In the centre, a stylised vertical traffic light system is depicted, with three circular lights:
Red at the top
Yellow in the middle
Green at the bottom
• The image is in black and the lights are represented by solid circles, not in real color, but arranged in the classic vertical configuration.
Installation context:
• On extra-urban or urban roads where the traffic light is not immediately perceptible
• Near traffic light intersections, with poor visibility
• Before crossing traffic lights, pedestrians or cycle paths
• Often installed 150-250 meters from the traffic light system, in accordance with the provisions of the Highway Code
